On 18 April, we were pleased to welcome Prof. Toman Barsbai from the University of Bristol.

In the framework of our lecture series about Cross-Border Labor Mobility, Prof. Barsbai gave a detailed lecture about “Experimental Approaches in Migration and Development”.

Professor Toman Barsbai focused on the significant gains of international migration, challenges in identifying causality, and the potential of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to address these challenges, while highlighting interventions to mitigate social distance and mistreatment.

This lecture series is organized by Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) & the University of Luxembourg, in the framework of the Fonds National de la Recherche (FNR), Luxembourg funded project: #ACROSS.

Next lecture will feature Prof. Diego Puga from CEMFI, Madrid on 16 May about “Benefits and Costs of Big Cities”.
