Ombuds team
Never let a problematic situation drag on, please, react as soon as possible.
We are aware of the power of imbalance between doctoral candidates and supervisors. Therefore, the DSHSS has established a team of “go-to-people” (Ombuds team) who can support you if you run into a conflict, a problem or a difficult situation.
They will attend you confidentially, to listen and offer an external opinion and advice. Furthermore, we can help with mediation or by guiding you to services or people within the university who are better equipped to assist you with specific issues.
In case of conflict, feel free to contact any of our members:

Join our community
Integration into the community is vital for the success of our Doctoral candidates and this is why we provide you with channels to socialise and voice your views through regular meetings with the Head of the Doctoral School, the Programme Directors and Student Representatives.
Building a sense of community is one of our key goals. We organise social events and encourage our candidates to organise workshops that are relevant across disciplines and foster a shared sense of community. Specifically, we support initiatives to organise Writing Cafés in Luxembourg and on campus to offer a comfortable and supportive atmosphere for individuals who want to work on their writing projects and make real progress.
Doctoral Candidates in our School have access to their own dedicated room on the Mezzanine Floor of the Maison des Sciences Humaines just opposite the DSHSS Doctoral School Office. All students including self-funded individuals have access to this space.
