ULIDE Presents at the APEC Privacy Enhancing Technologies Workshop

There are many benefits to processing personal data, ranging from scientific advances to business. The European Union has recognised the advantages of a digital market and services. However, this processing must be carried out in a way that respects privacy and complies with the law. In this way, the privacy and security of personal data are interdisciplinary challenges that require multiple perspectives.

ULIDE researcher, Dr Negri-Ribalta, was invited by the Taiwanese government to present at the APEC Workshop on Privacy Enhancing Technologies. Opportunities and Challenges to discuss interdisciplinarity in data protection from a requirements engineering perspective. 

At this event, Dr Negri-Ribalta emphasized the importance of including data protection requirements in the early phases of the software development lifecycle and ensuring compliance with regulations. As part of her work with IAS, at the SnT and ULIDE, she discussed the need to consider all stakeholder expectations and how communication is often a major challenge for interdisciplinary teams.
