Luxembourg Learning Centre (LLC)

Press & Magazines

In brief

Overview

The Luxembourg Learning Centre offers access to a wide range of electronic newspapers and magazines. Some print press can also be found on the ground floor of the LLC in “The Lounge”. This area is specially aimed at people wanting to consult the press, with cosy chairs and sofas.

  • On site
    Available at the LLC

In “The Lounge”, on the ground floor of the Luxembourg Learning Centre, you will find print versions of many international newspapers and magazines, mainly from Luxembourg, France, Germany and Belgium. These resources can be consulted on site.

Older editions of the newspapers are kept for a limited period of time. We invite you to consult the electronic versions, if available, for older archives.

  • Online press
Available on a-z for registered users

The LLC has subscriptions to several platforms that provide access to online press. They are accessible with a computer or smartphone via a-z.lu.

Please note that some databases that do not specialise in newspapers may also provide access to certain titles. For example, Proquest One Business offers access to The Economist, while Factiva provides access to The Times. If you are unsure which database offers access to the newspaper you are interested in, we suggest using the a-z.lu catalogue to search for the newspaper title. This will redirect you to the database hosting the content.

  • Press archives
Access depending on the respective national library

The national libraries of each country have scanned a large number of their press archives. A selection can be found in the drop-down list below.

For countries not listed, please consult the website of the country’s national library and then search for the digitised archives.

  • Daily

For the daily press, the LLC focuses its efforts on Luxembourg newspapers. However, we also make some dailies from the Greater Region (Luxembourg, Belgium, France, and Germany) available. If you’re interested in a particular newspaper and are unsure if it’s available at the library, we invite you to explore our a-z.lu catalog.

  • Weekly/Monthly/ Quarterly

Among our weeklies, monthlies and quarterlies, you’ll find magazines that also focus on the Greater Region, such as L’agefi Luxembourg, L’écho, Paperjam, Der Spiegel, and international magazines like Courrier international, HIR (Harvard international review) and Die Zeit.
