By Antoinette Lorang, art historian; Fernand Bertemes, painter; and Serge Ecker, multimedia artist
Antoinette Lorang explores the perspectives of artists on industrial landscapes from the end of the 19th century to the 1980s. Through a selection of emblematic works, she will demonstrate how painters from the region or elsewhere have depicted this modern world that gradually emerged with the industrial development in our region, which was previously predominantly rural.
For the contemporary section, the art historian has invited two artists to present some of their cherished works—either completed or in progress—related to the subject: painter Fernand Bertemes and multimedia artist Serge Ecker. Following this, the audience will be invited to engage in a discussion with the artists.
The conference will be in French. Book sale and signing on site.
