Capitães de Abril – A commemorative film screening on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution in Portugal, Luxembourg city’s Cinémathèque, in collaboration with the Zentrum fir politesch Bildung (ZpB) and the Centre national de l’audiovisuel (CNA), is proud to present “Capitães de Abril”, a film by Maria de Medeiros.

This special event will shed light on the captivating story of two young idealistic captains who led a peaceful coup to overthrow Portugal’s right-wing dictatorship in 1974. The film will be presented in its original version with English subtitles and will be accompanied by an introduction in French by the Zentrum fir politesch Bildung & the Centre national de l’audiovisuel.
