8th Edition of the Brazilian Film Festival from April 17th, 2024 to April 21st, 2024
Discover five extraordinary films from 2023, and immerse yourself in a lineup with a number of significant events (VR, Interactive, and conferences). Dandara Ferreira, the director of the film about the life of singer Gal Costa (“Meu nome é Gal”), and director Hugo Prata (“Angela” on April 20th) will be present throughout the festival.
The Commune of Bettembourg will host the Festival on April 18th for a Brazilian evening, featuring a compelling documentary.
On April 20th, there will be a thought-provoking round table discussion that will take place at 17.00 at the CNA. The discussion will delve into topics of discrimination and violence against women, as well as the situation of migrant women in Luxembourg. Following the round table, at 19.00, the Festival will screen the film “Angela”, shedding light on Brazil’s most well-known femicide, in the presence of the film’s director, Hugo Prata. The film’s audience is invited to the Brazilian party that will conclude the evening at the CCRD “opderschmelz”.
Children and young people will not be forgotten with an animated film on Sunday to wrap up the festival in style.
