Max Kreis is our artist in residence at the University of Luxembourg in the frame of the new partnership between Uni and Casino Display. This new collaboration spans over 3 years, where artists and researchers will connect and exchange on different topics and projects, with a conference day open to all at the end of the residency and a production of a printed article.
Artists engage critically and broaden their artistic practice and research through the residence. The inherent interdisciplinary nature of this initiative will encourage intersections that will highlight the fluid exchange of knowledge and and experimental methods between artistic and academic fields.
About the artist
Max Kreis is a multimedia artist, technical artist, lecturer and self-taught developer who researches and works with machine learning algorithms, computer vision and game engines. He works in the fields of installation and video and has been known to make music videos with AI since 2018.
He has exhibited his work at the MCG Matsudo Tokyo (JAP), the Bundeskunsthalle Bonn (DE), at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien Berlin (Galerie Martinetz Cologne (DE), Odessa in Ukraine and Krasnodar in Russia. His music videos for artists such as Kasabian, Magdalena Bay and Warp Records have in part been selected for the Vienna Shorts 2022.
Max Kreis will be working closely with the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine.
