During the ‘Ensemble, unis contre Alzheimer’ event, the collaboration between the Hôpitaux Pitié-Salpêtrière Paris and the University of Luxembourg was officially launched.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the University of Luxembourg and the Fondation Recherche Alzheimer. This collaboration demonstrates a commitment to advancing Alzheimer’s research, as the number of people affected by this disease worldwide is expected to reach a staggering 80 million by 2030.

The event was attended by Olivier de Ladoucette, psychiatrist and geriatrician, who is also chairman of the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, and Michael Heneka, director of the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine. The event was also supported by researchers Nicolas Villain (Hôpitaux Pitié-Salpêtrière), David Bouvier and Michel Mittelbronn (both LCSB and LNS). Together, they shared their insights into the pressing challenges and promising prospects in Alzheimer’s disease research. This collaborative effort aims to transcend borders and unite experts in a common mission to combat this debilitating disease.
