About the speaker

Dr Fernández-Chacón is Associate Professor of Physiology at the Institute of Biomedicine of Seville, where he leads a laboratory focused on the role of Cysteine String Protein-alpha in the maintenance of synaptic terminals. He obtained his MD and PhD in Cellular Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Seville, Spain, where he completed his studies with Guillermo Alvarez de Toledo in 1995. His thesis focused on neurotransmitter release.
