Laurent Marichal is a postdoctoral researcher specialised in biophysical chemistry. He is mainly focused on the study of protein interactions and protein self-assembly. Laurent was awarded his PhD in 2018 at the CEA Saclay, Université Paris-Saclay, France, for his research into the formation of protein coronas on nanoparticles. He extended his expertise regarding protein self-assembly by working at the Laboratoire de Physique des Solides, Université Paris-Saclay, France, in the field of physical virology. He then worked at the Laboratoire des Matériaux et du Génie Physique, Université Grenoble Alpes, France, on the study of interactions between proteins and materials. He has been working at the LCSB since August 2023, focusing on the topic of amyloid formation in the context of Alzheimer’s disease.
