Dr Laura van Bochove, LLM is researcher at the Scientific Bureau of the Dutch Supreme Court and legal advisor at the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security. On behalf of the Ministry, Laura takes part in the working group on Parentage/Surrogacy of the Hague Conference on Private International Law and in the EU Council Working Party on Parenthood. In addition, she is engaged in the preparations of a possible recast of the Rome II and Brussels Ia Regulations. Laura is also deputy judge at The Hague Court of Appeal.
Previously, Laura was Assistant Professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam and Leiden University. She was visiting scholar at the University of Arizona, Cambridge University, and the University of Bologna.
Laura’s fields of expertise are Private International Law (PIL) and Comparative Law. She has published articles on, inter alia, the PIL aspects of investment losses, cartel damage, defamation, and the public policy exception in international procedural law.
