His research lies at the intersection of international economic law, EU external relations law and sustainable development. Arman’s doctoral research centered on the design, operation and systemic effects of trade and sustainable development chapters in free trade agreements. More broadly, his research addresses the trade and sustainability nexus, the reform of investor–state and state-to-state dispute settlement, the autonomy of the EU legal order in the context of new-generation trade and investment agreements, and procedural dimension of sustainability in international trade and investment regimes. Arman has published his works with European Papers, the Max Planck Encyclopedia of International Procedural Law, the Edward Elgar Encyclopedia of International Economic Law, Cambridge University Press and the European Investment Law and Arbitration Review.
