Aritz Castro Landazuri is a Doctoral Researcher at the Luxembourg Centre for European Law (LCEL), under the supervision of Professor Takis Tridimas.
Research
His research focuses on EU constitutional law, fundamental rights, general principles of EU law, and the rule of law.
Awards/Distinctions
Aritz received the Bachelor’s Degree Extraordinary Award for holding the best academic record in his undergraduate studies and an Honours mention for his two Bachelor’s theses (2024). His postgraduate studies were fully funded by the Scholarship on European Affairs granted by the Regional Council (2024).
Work experience
Before joining the LCEL, he has worked as a trainee at the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2023) and the Legal Service of the Council of the European Union (2025-2026). He has also worked as a Research Assistant during his studies.
Educational background
Aritz holds a double Bachelor’s Degree in Law and International Relations from the University of Deusto (Bilbao, Spain), which included an exchange at Leiden University (Netherlands). He obtained his LLM on European Law at the College of Europe (Bruges, Belgium), with a mention très bien.
