Dr Oliver Gerstenberg teaches EU law and Jurisprudence at the Faculty of LAWS at University College London (UCL). His research combines an interest in contemporary EU multilevel constitutionalism with an interest in constitutional theory and the history of ideas more broadly. Among his publications are, together with Charles F Sabel, Constitutionalising an Overlapping Consensus: the ECJ and the Emergence of a Co-ordinate Constitutional Order. European Law Journal, 16, 511-550 (2010); his monograph on Euroconstitutionalism and Its Discontents. Oxford University Press (2019); and, together with Frank I. Michelman, Constitutions and the Public / Private Divide. In: Michel Rosenfeld, András Sajó (eds.), The Oxford Handbook of Comparative Constitutional Law, 2nd edition (forthcoming in 2025). He was part of the Project Team on the Charter of Fundamental Constitutional Principles for a European Democracy, convened by Takis Tridimas and Eloise Muir under the auspices of the European Law Institute.
