AI Café 2024

The AI Café is a yearly event, intended to be a meeting place where discussions and critical thinking are possible and where citizens will have the opportunity to enter into dialogue with experts. In addition, citizens should also be encouraged to contribute to the topic of AI themselves. In this sense, the AI Café defines a cycle from expert to citizen (debates) and from citizen to expert (AI competition). Here you will find a report on the 2024 edition of this event.

AI Café 2024: Bridging citizens and experts in the AI dialogue

AI Café 2024, hosted by the University of Luxembourg’s Department of Computer Science, brought together citizens, researchers, and thought leaders for a dynamic series of debates on the societal impact of artificial intelligence. Designed as a platform for open dialogue and critical thinking, the event encouraged public participation through live polling, Q&A sessions, and interactive discussions. This year’s themes explored AI’s role in the labor market and its potential in education and creativity, featuring insights from leading experts across academia, industry, and policy. The AI Café continues to foster a unique exchange—where citizens not only learn from experts but also shape the conversation around AI’s future.
