About

This collaborative research project, led by the University of Minho (PI: Anabela Cruz-Santos) in partnership with the University of Luxembourg (Co-PI: Pascale Engel de Abreu), investigates the pivotal role of phonological awareness in the development of early reading and writing skills in preschool children. The project focuses on a hybrid intervention program that integrates both digital and traditional resources to enhance phonological awareness and letter recognition in children, including those who are deaf or hard of hearing and hearing children. The effectiveness of the intervention will be evaluated within bilingual education settings, with the goal of supporting inclusive education. By assessing this innovative approach, the project aims to improve our understanding of effective strategies for teaching phonological skills to diverse learners and promoting equitable educational opportunities for preschool children.
