Nicole Visco Comandini is a doctoral researcher in criminal law and criminal procedure at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance, under the supervision of Professor Katalin Ligeti.
Research
Her primary research area is European and International Criminal Law, with a particular interest in criminal proceedings and fundamental rights, economic criminal law, and the application of AI and other emerging technologies in criminal proceedings.
Work experience
She previously held the role of Research and Development Specialist in AI and Criminal Law as part of the CRIM_AI Project, which examines whether existing criminal procedure rules sufficiently address the specific nature and the associated pitfalls of AI evidence. Before joining the University of Luxembourg, she gained experience during her studies, first in national law firms in Rome and later as an intern at the Meijers Committee in Amsterdam, where she focused on EU Justice and Home Affairs.
Educational background
She graduated in Law from LUISS University (5-year single-cycle degree in Law) with honours in 2023 and completed an LLM in European Criminal Justice from Utrecht University with distinction in the same year.
