The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance is proud to announce that two Faculty members have been promoted to the position of Full Professor following the 2025 University of Luxembourg Competitive Promotion. This highly-competitive merit-based promotion, recognises academic achievement across the following areas: research and scholarship, teaching, knowledge and technology transfer, and administration and management. We congratulate our colleagues Prof. Silvia Allegrezza and Prof. Luca Ratti on their impressive accomplishment.
Prof. Silvia Allegrezza
Silvia Allegrezza is a Professor of Criminal Law and director of the Master in European Economic and Financial Criminal Law at the University of Luxembourg, where she teaches national and European criminal law and procedure, with a focus on procedural safeguards banking regulations and crimes.
Prof. Allegrezza is Principal Investigator on several current research projects founded by the EU Commission and by the Luxembourg FNR, including within the FutureFintech National Centre of Excellence in Research and Innovation (NCER).
Prof. Luca Ratti
Luca Ratti is a Professor of European and Comparative Labour Law at the Department of Law, University of Luxembourg. He held a Jean Monnet Chair in EU Labour Law from 2022-2025. He is the Director of the Master 1 in European law (first year) and the head of the Teaching committee at the Department of Law.
Prof. Ratti’s main research themes include in-work poverty and the regulation of minimum wages, the digitalisation of work relations, and the sustainability of the European social model.
At University level, he is an active member of the Reasonable Accommodations Committee, tasked to raise awareness and support students’ special needs.
