The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg congratulate Mr. Thomas von Danwitz on his election as Vice-President, Mr. Maciej Szpunar on his re-election as First Advocate General, and Mr. Koen Lenaerts on his re-election as President of the Court of Justice of the European Union. Their 3-year terms will run from October 2024 until October 2027.
Judge Lenaerts and AG Szpunar both maintain ties with the University of Luxembourg. Over the years, Judge Lenaerts and AG Szpunar have graciously participated in several PhD examination committees alongside Department of Law professors. First AG Szpunar has also been a keynote speaker and chair at conferences organised by the FDEF Department of Law as well as the LCEL, sharing his experience notably in the domain of Intellectual Property Law as well as EU Procedural Law.
