In a significant development linking academia with European regulatory bodies, Professor Dirk Zetzsche, Full professor in Financial Law and ADA Chair in Financial Law (Inclusive Finance) in the Department of Law, has added another string to his bow.
Due to his outstanding research record our expert has been appointed to the Consultative Working Group (CWG) on Investment Management by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA).
The announcement was made following agreement with the Chair of the Investment Management Standing Committee (IMSC), and the Head of the Investor Protection and Sustainable Finance Department.
Professor Zetzsche’s application was successfully accepted in line with ESMA’s call for expressions of interest. The CWG membership is renewable every three years.
This appointment places Professor Zetzsche at the forefront of discussions concerning investment fund matters within ESMA, reinforcing Luxembourg’s pivotal role in European regulatory affairs. July 2024 marks the beginning of Professor Zetzsche’s active participation in shaping policies at the highest regulatory levels of the European Union.
