Prof. Thorsten Lehnert has been appointed as a Panel Member in the European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant peer review process for the panel “Individuals, Markets and Organisations” (SH1), following identification and invitation by the ERC Scientific Council in 2025.
The European Research Council is Europe’s leading funding body for frontier research. Its Starting Grants support outstanding early-career researchers who are establishing their first independent research teams or programs. The selection of funded projects is based on a rigorous and highly competitive peer review process conducted by internationally recognised experts. ERC grants are widely regarded as among the most prestigious and competitive research funding schemes in the world.
Panel members are chosen by the ERC Scientific Council for their scientific excellence, international reputation, and deep expertise in their respective research fields. In this role, Prof. Lehnert contributed to the evaluation of research proposals submitted to the ERC Starting Grant call and participated in panel deliberations to identify the most promising and groundbreaking research projects.
‟ “I am honoured to have been invited by the ERC Scientific Council to serve as a panel member in the Starting Grant evaluation process. The ERC plays a crucial role in supporting ambitious and innovative research across Europe, and I look forward to contributing to the selection of outstanding scientific proposals.”
