FDEF Dean Prof. Katalin Ligeti reappointed to European Commission Expert Group on EU Criminal Policy

Professor Katalin Ligeti, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance at the University of Luxembourg, has been reappointed to a fourth term as a member of the European Commission Expert Group on EU Criminal Policy.

Prof. Ligeti joins 19 other members from 13 Member States tasked with advising the Commission on substantive criminal law in the context of the development of an EU Criminal Policy. Notably, the group assists the Commission in the preparation of legislative proposals and policy initiatives. Established in 2012, the Expert Group operates within the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers and includes representatives from academia, government, and private practice.
