MobiLab, the Transport Research Group of the University of Luxembourg, is looking for a Doctoral researcher to join the team.
The research project is framed within the FNR-BRIDGES funded project ANTOINE (Anticipatory Train Optimization with Intelligent management), where the student will work in a team with experts in transportation and logistics, and in collaboration with the national freight forwarding operator CFL Multimodal. The student will work on a thesis provisionally entitled ‘Integrated stochastic optimization methods for resource management of intermodal and rail terminals’. In the project, the candidate will study the joint shunting (or blocking) wagon problem considering maintenance scheduling.
Working with the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine, the student will also have regular contact with the Luxembourg Center for Logistics and Supply Chain Management and its researchers.
