Qualified as French Law professor (Professeur agrégé des Facultés de droit de France), he held, before joining the University of Luxembourg, a position at the University of Lorraine (1995-2005).

During the last twenty years, André Prüm has been strongly involved in the modernization of Luxembourg’s legal infrastructure. The government of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg requested him to prepare major reforms of Luxembourg business law leading in particular to a complete overhaul of company law, the introduction of the law on securitization, the first law on electronic commerce, a law on trusts and fiduciary contracts as well as a reform of competition law.
André Prüm is regularly requested to issue legal opinions on Luxembourg, French and European law and to serve as an arbitrator in international and national litigations.
André Prüm has constantly been involved in the management of universities and research institutions acting for ten years as director of the Laboratory of Economic Law, a research department of the Centre de Recherche Public Gabriel Lippmann; chairing the Centre de Recherche en droit privé of the University of Nancy 2 (1998-2005) and serving on the boards of the Faculty of Law of the University of Paris XI (1993-1996) and of the Faculty of Law and Economics of the University of Nancy 2 (1998-2003).
He is a board member of the AXA group insurance companies in Luxembourg, Credit Suisse ( Luxembourg), Kneip Communications SA and Cluster Management SA.. He previously held a management position at the Banque Paribas’ International legal department (Paris) and was a managing partner of a law firm in France. He is a member of several learned societies and serves as a President of the “ section des sciences morales et politiques” of the Institut grand-ducal.
André Prüm (born in 1961) is a Luxembourg national. He is married and father of two children and lives with his family in Luxembourg since 1996.
