On 13 December 2023, the Faculty of Law, Economics, and Finance (FDEF) held its annual Graduation Week ceremonies. A total of 520 diplomas were conferred upon its Bachelor’s and Master’s graduates.
During the Master Ceremony, the FDEF celebrated the graduation of 273 students from its 13 Master programmes. Simultaneously, the Bachelor Ceremony saw 247 students receiving their diplomas in Bachelor en Droit, Bachelor en Gestion, Bachelor en Sciences Economiques, and Bachelor en Comptabilité et Fiscalité.
The ceremonies were graced by the presence of the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Katalin Ligeti, and the Vice-Rector for Partnerships and International Relations, Prof. Marie-Hélène Jobin. They warmly welcomed the students, extending their congratulations and best wishes to the fresh graduates. They reminded the graduates to continue learning even after they leave the University.
Following the Bachelor and Master graduation ceremonies, a separate event was organized jointly for all Faculties and Interdisciplinary Centres on 15 December 2023. It brought together 36 doctoral graduates from the FDEF to celebrate their successes. Among them were 21 PhDs from the Doctoral School of Law and 15 PhDs from the Doctoral School in Economics, Finance and Management.
From the FDEF’s two Doctoral schools, the Excellent Thesis Awards were received by Aleksandr Ermakov, Doctoral School in Economics, Finance and Management for his thesis “Risk, uncertainty and valuation in private equity: a multifaceted approach via investor beliefs, priors, benchmarking and fund characteristics” and Nicole Citeroni, Doctoral School in Law for her thesis on “Systemic Economic Crimes as a New Paradigm of International Offences – Towards an Evolution on Revolution of International Criminal Law?”. Master’s best thesis and other award winners were celebrated on 28 November 2023 during the faculty’s second Partnership Event.
In addition to the Graduation Week, numerous diplomas were issued and distributed throughout the year. Sixteen individuals received Certificates in Law and Regulation of Inclusive Finance, 34 individuals received Certificates in Sustainable Finance, 298 individuals obtained Certificats de Formation Complémentaire des Experts-Comptables, and 48 individuals were awarded Certificats de Formation Complémentaire des Réviseurs d’Entreprises.
