Dual degree with King’s College – Dickson Poon Law School
Spend one year in London and one year in Luxembourg while studying Law in both countries. Or, apply after finishing your studies in Luxembourg!
The Dickson Poon School of Law, King’s College London, is one of England’s oldest and most prestigious law schools, consistently ranked among the top law schools worldwide. This dual degree programme offers outstanding Master in Law students from the University of Luxembourg the opportunity to gain a global legal education in London, a leading centre for international law and business.
Programme structure
Two possibilities:
- First year mobility: Students depart during the first year and, after successful completion of the Master year at King’s, return to Uni.lu and enter the second year. Selection takes place during the final semester of the Bachelor en Droit.
- After the second year: Students can pursue studies at King’s after their second year, benefiting from the reduced fee rate under our agreement. Selection takes place at the beginning of the spring semester, after the info session.
Selection is competitive and subject to academic merit.
Students can choose from a wide range of LLM programmes at King’s, including General LLM, Competition Law, European Law, Intellectual Property & Information Law, International Business Law, International Financial Law, International Dispute Resolution, International Tax Law, Law & Technology, and Transnational Law.
If the student complies with both universities’ rules and conditions as regards credits envisaged, attendance, deadlines, academic integrity etc., they will receive two degrees, which will be released according to each university’s procedures. The student will also receive a transcript from each university as well as a descriptive appendix to the diploma (annexe descriptive au diplôme)
The language of instruction at King’s College London is English.
For Bachelor en Droit students
Students in their final semester of the Bachelor en Droit at the University of Luxembourg who wish to participate in the dual degree programme during the first year of their Master must apply as part of their Master en Droit Européen application process. Along with the standard application documents (including transcript of records and CV), candidates must complete and submit the specific “Dual Degree Application King’s” form, available on Moodle. All documents should be sent to stephanie.anderson@uni.lu by the advertised deadline.
Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted; however, applicants will have one opportunity to submit any missing documents if notified.
For Master in Law students
Students already enrolled in the Master en Droit Européen at Uni.lu who wish to complete a dual degree at King’s College after their second year may apply at the start of the spring semester in year two. Information sessions are held to guide interested candidates through the process. Applications must include supporting documents and the “Dual Degree Application King’s” form, and should be submitted by email to stephanie.anderson@uni.lu within the announced timeframe.
Note: For current M1 students, application is not possible.
Applicants must demonstrate strong academic performance and motivation for study abroad.
Proficiency in English at “Band B” level is mandatory, in line with King’s College standards.
Candidates must also satisfy UK visa and financial requirements, including proof of sufficient means to cover tuition fees and living expenses. No financial support or scholarship is available through this agreement.
Applications are reviewed for completeness and eligibility. Shortlisted candidates are assessed on academic merit, suitability for the programme, and motivation. Selected students are then officially nominated to King’s College London and receive detailed guidance for the next steps of the application, including submission of necessary documents and arrangements for visa and admission.
