The Doctoral School of Law of the University of Luxembourg and partner, the College of Law of the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign held a joint event on 28 January 2026.
The Spring 2026 Colloquium brought together PhD and JSD Candidates for student presentations on a wide range of international legal topics including EU procedural law, constitutional pluralism, international courts’ cooperation in corporate transnational bankruptcy and fisheries governance in Ghana, among others. Discussants included faculty members from both the University of Luxembourg (Prof. Thomas Mastrullo, Prof. Luigi Lonardo, Prof Elise Poillot) and the University of Illinois (Prof. Lesley Wexler, Prof. Kenworthey Bilz).
A Faculty keynote speech on “Transitional Justice, Rule of Law, and the Trump Administration” was given by Prof. Colleen Murphy, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (Illinois) and commented by Prof. Johan Van der Walt (Luxembourg).
