Professor of Law, Jörg Gerkrath, and Research Scientist Susana Muñoz from the University of Luxembourg have been nominated by the Luxembourg Ministry of the Economy to serve on the independent commission to assess the conformity of proportionality tests.
Foreseen by the grand-ducal regulation of 2 November 2021, the commission will focus on ensuring that the principle of proportionality is upheld in the context of introducing or modifying laws pertaining to regulated professions. The ministerial ruling of 29 March 2023 names Prof. Gerkrath as a full member and Dr. Muñoz as an alternate, for a duration of four years.
