Isabelle Corbisier is licenciée en droit (summa cum laude, first in class) from the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium), Master of Laws (LLM) from the Louisiana State University (USA) and doctor of laws (PhD, summa cum laude) from the University of Luxembourg . Her main fields of interest include company law and the law of obligations (particularly contract law) that she studies alongside the perspectives of national, comparative and European law. She has been an attorney in Brussels, an assistant at several universities (Université Catholique de Louvain, Facultés Universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix in Namur and Universität Würzburg, the latter in Germany), a visiting scholar at the University of Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and at the University of Berkeley (USA). She has been a lecturer at the Université Catholique de Louvain and at the Facultés Universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix in Namur and a guest professor at the école supérieure de sciences fiscales (Ichec, Brussels). Between 1996 and 2005, she was a member of the laboratoire de droit économique (LDE) then part of the CRP Gabriel Lippmann in Luxembourg and in charge of the SOCOM project, aiming at a global reform of Luxembourg company law. This project is now completed. In parallel (since 1999) she has been teaching Luxembourg company law at the Centre Universitaire de Luxembourg (now the University of Luxembourg). Isabelle Corbisier is still a member of the LDE, that now forms one of the research units of the University of Luxembourg, where she essentially teaches company law as a lecturer. She is also a guest professor at the management school of the University of Liège (HEC-Ulg, Belgium) and of counsel at Philippe & Partners Law Office. She is the author of many scientific publications in the fields of company law and of the law of contracts (national, comparative and European law).
