Silvia Allegrezza is Associate Professor of Criminal Law and director of the Master in European Economic and Financial Criminal Law at the University of Luxembourg, where she teaches national and European criminal law and procedure, with a focus on procedural safeguards banking regulations and crimes. She previously taught at the universities of Bologna and Ferrara. She has been a Visiting Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for International and Comparative Law in Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany) and at the Université Paris I ?
Panthéon-Sorbonne (France). Silvia took part as a member of the experts panel in several research projects (Model Rules for the European Public Prosecutor Office, Victims right, Rethinking European Criminal Law, etc).
She is Principal Investigators in several research projects founded by the EU Commissione and by the Luxemburgish Fond National de la Recherche. They focus on banking regulations and criminal law (EUBAR); on appeals proceedings in criminal matters (APIC) and on judicial remedies in EU criminal law (JURECRIPRO). Silvia is a member of the European Criminal Law Academic Network (ECLAN) and of the International Association of Criminal Law (AIDP).
