    25 October 2022

From 25 to 29 October 2022, the Lycée Hubert Clément Esch-sur-Alzette and its partners, including Europe Direct at the University of Luxembourg, are organizing the event entitled ‘European Youth: Values, Identity, Culture’, with the participantion of students, teachers and trainers from 17 schools and colleges from around Luxembourg and Europe.

The students will engage with fundamental European values in a creative, artistic and multicultural manner. There will be five workshops (poetry slam, graffiti, Hip Hop, dance, improv theatre), each of which will focus on one particular value. These various collaborative activities will encourage the students to thoroughly engage with the the concept and principles of European-values, and to voice their ideas and visions in various artistic ways.

72 years after the Schuman Declaration – and in this “European Year of Youth” – it is as important as never before to deal with the fundamental ideas and values of Europe, to emphasise the importance of Europe and to avoid an attitude that takes an intact European Union for granted.

On this occasion, Europe Direct at the University of Luxembourg: will organize at the Lycée Hubert Clément Esch-sur-Alzette the exhibition  “The Schuman Declaration, 9 May 1950” (Published by the Archives Unit of the European Parliament, and having as curator the Directorate of Libraries and Knowledge Tools (Directorate General of Parliamentary Research Services).
