About

The Historical Dictionary of the Resistance in Luxembourg during World War II will consist of three parts: 1) Articles reflecting more traditional topics concerning the Resistance, but also in line with current trends in international research (the Resistance in everyday life, questions of identity(ies), phenomena of ambivalence , questions of time and space, temporalities, roots in society, the broadening of scales, analysis of the discourse of resistance fighters, financing of movements, transnational and cross-border analyses, etc. 2) Biographies of resistance fighters and resistance movements. This part of the dictionary will be produced in accordance with a methodology and structure defined in advance. Each biography will indicate its archival and historiographical sources at the bottom of the page. The biographies selected will be chosen to illustrate the diversity of the world of resistance fighters: diversity of origins, motivations, activities, organisations, and backgrounds. 3) A chronology and a collection/compilation of excerpts from contemporary documents and testimonies.
