About

This project, of a fundamental research nature, aims to carry out historical research on the Jewish population in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg between 1930 and 1960 with a focus on the problem of the spoliation of Jewish property. By “Jewish population” we mean people of the Jewish faith as well as people who were subsequently considered Jewish, for example on the basis of Nazi racial laws during the occupation of Luxembourg. The main deliverables are three doctoral theses and a postdoctoral study, with an update of the list of the Jewish population in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg between 1930 and 1945 which has been deposited in the National Archives of Luxembourg. This updated list will be deposited in the National Archives of Luxembourg under the responsibility of the Ministry of State.
