Rust & Research” contest rules
15–16 November 2025
Article 1 – Organizer
The organizer of the “Rust & Research” contest (“Contest”) is the Centre for Contemporary and Digital History of the University of Luxembourg (“C²DH”), Maison des Sciences Humaines, 11 Porte des Sciences, L-4366 Esch-sur-Alzette, LUXEMBOURG (hereinafter referred to as the “Organizer”).
Article 2 – Purpose of the Contest
The Contest, organized as part of the Game On 2025 event (15 and 16 November 2025), aims to raise awareness about the Belval site in a playful way. It consists of answering an online questionnaire (“MCQ”). Participants who answer all questions correctly will be eligible for a prize draw to win a card game titled “Rust & Research,” created by C²DH and themed around the Belval site (“Card Game”).
Article 3 – Conditions of Participation
- The Contest is open to all individuals, except members of the Organizer’s team.
- Only one entry per person is allowed.
- Participation is free and without any purchase obligation.
Article 4 – Participation Procedure
- Participants must complete the MCQ available on the Lime Survey platform at the following address: http://ulsurvey.uni.lu/index.php/943173?lang=en
- The MCQ consists of 5 questions.
- The MCQ will be accessible from 15 November 2025 at 14:00 until 16 November 2025 at 18:00.
- Only participants who answer all questions correctly will be entered into the prize draw.
Article 5 – Prize Draw
- The prize draw will be conducted under the supervision of the Organizer to ensure fairness.
- 30 winners will be selected.
Article 6 – Prizes
- Each winner will receive one Card Game.
- Prizes are neither exchangeable nor refundable.
Article 7 – Announcement of Winners and Prize Collection
- Winners will be contacted by email at the address provided during participation and will receive a voucher for the Card Game (“Voucher”).
- They will be invited to collect their Card Game in person, presenting the Voucher, within ten (10) days of receiving it, after making an appointment with the organizer Nicolas Arendt (+352) 46 66 44 4726, nicolas.arendt@uni.lu at the following address: UL – C²DH, 11 Porte des Sciences, 4366 Esch-Belval Esch sur Alzette, LUXEMBOURG, étage 4.
- If unable to collect the prize in person, winners must, within ten (10) days of receiving the Voucher, send an email to the Organizer (nicolas.arendt@uni.lu) with the Voucher, stating their identity and postal address, in order to receive the Card Game by mail.
Article 8 – Liability
The Organizer cannot be held responsible for any malfunction of the MCQ or technical issues preventing participation, nor for any force majeure or other events beyond its control that may disrupt the proper conduct of the Contest.
Article 9 – Personal Data
Personal data collected will be processed solely for the proper conduct of the Contest and the distribution of the Card Game. The personal data is the participant’s e-mail address. Data will be deleted twenty (20) days after the Vouchers are sent. In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), and before the deletion of their data, participants have the right to access, rectify, and delete their data. These rights can be directly exercised by contacting the organizer (nicolas.arendt@uni.lu).
Article 10 – Acceptance of the Rules
The rules are available at the following link: https://www.uni.lu/c2dh-en/rust-and-research/rust-and-research-contest-rules/ and may be consulted at any time during the Contest period. Participation in the Contest implies full and unconditional acceptance of these rules.
