Based on a research conducted at a disused prison (1903-2010, Rennes), which combines history, mediation and participation, the aim will be to define a singular research space at the intersection of two developing research fields: public history and scientific mediation. Gaïd Andro is a historian and senior lecturer at Nantes University, a member of the Institut Universitaire de France and holds a chair in scientific mediation.

Fanny Le Bonhomme is a historian and lecturer at the University of Poitiers.

They coordinate the ANR PatCaM-funded research project and founded the Cartier Libre research association.
