EU law and values in a changing world – LCEL Library 2D Visual Art Contest

To celebrate the Inaugural Conference of the Luxembourg Centre for European Law (10–11 October 2025), the LCEL Library invites you to take part in a 2D Visual Art Contest that explores how EU law and values shape, and are shaped by, a changing world.

How does the evolving role of EU law and fundamental values inspire you? This is your chance to turn your perspective into a piece of art.

Who can participate?

Students, staff, researchers, family members, everyone from everywhere is welcome.
Whether you are an artist or just love to create, this is your moment.
We can’t wait to see how you imagine the future of EU law and values, through your art.

How to participate?

Submit an original piece of 2D art inspired by the theme. From paintbrush to camera lens, pencil to collage scissors.
The only limit is your imagination.
Each participant may submit only one entry, either in physical or digital format.
All submissions must include a title or motto that reflects the interpretation of the theme.

On paper:
Dimensions A3 (42 cm x 29.7 cm)

What are the selection criteria?

A jury will assess submissions based on:

• relevance to the theme
• artistic quality
• originality

What happens to your artwork?

The winning pieces will be:

  • exhibited in the LCEL Library from 10 October onwards
  • featured in the LCEL annual report and on the University’s website and social media
  • rewarded with a surprise prize

Note: Photos with identifiable individuals must include a signed release form from each person shown, authorizing the use of their image. When using generative AI, you must acknowledge their use by specifying the AI employed and the date it was accessed.
