University of Luxembourg Institute of Digital Ethics

Launched in January 2025, the University of Luxembourg Institute for Digital Ethics (ULIDE) is an interdisciplinary hub providing guidance on the ethical implications of digitalisation. The Institute strives to conduct application-oriented analysis, provide strategic policy recommendations, engage with diverse audiences and transfer knowledge.

The missions of the ULIDE

The Institute fosters interdisciplinary collaboration across the University’s faculties and interdisciplinary centres, and ensures that its research, outreach and policy recommendations are both globally informed and locally relevant.

Focusing on thematic areas such as digital democracy, law, culture, health, and sustainability, ULIDE tackles critical challenges like AI accountability, privacy, and digital literacy. By combining fundamental and applied research, ULIDE ensures Luxembourg’s leadership in navigating the ethical landscape of digital transformation, driving advanced and sustainable innovation.
