Pioneering Space Technology in the Heart of Luxembourg

Since our first journey to the Moon over 50 years ago, worldwide efforts to explore further beyond now depend on our ability to extract resources from space to use in expeditions. Currently, astronauts going up into space are limited to staying within reach of the Earth, as they need access to food and supplies. If we want to spread ourselves and explore further, we need to be able to make use of our surroundings to extract resources.

SnT’s SIGCOM research group are helping to revolutionise the way communication happens in space, envisioning that remote-controlled resource extraction could become a strong possibility. In this article with Paperjam, Prof. Symeon Chatzinotas discusses ongoing partner projects at SnT, and how they’re helping to develop the cutting-edge technology of tomorrow.
