2020 was a year to thrive under challenging and unique circumstances. Even throughout a worldwide pandemic, SnT has continued to make headway in innovation and contribute to the fight against COVID-19. As we continue striving to make improvements to our annual report each year, we present to you the 2020 edition in a new, digital format. We hope you find this layout more enjoyable to navigate.

Our 2020 Annual Report is available to read here.

“We have all faced a very different reality this year than what we considered normal, so it’s with great pride I reflect on our progress this year even in the face of such adversity,” said Björn Ottersten in his director’s introduction. In this year’s edition we round up a handful of the greatest success stories SnT saw in 2020, proving how we triumphed despite the obstacles in our way.

We have a total of 24 stories to share with you this year. These include updates across our partner projects, as well as various projects and tools that were created during the FNR’s COVID-19 Fast-Track Call in April 2020. “Tools like this will be crucial to the success of our collective efforts to get the economy moving again without compromising public health,” said Prof. Raphael Frank, one of our team members who applied his research to join the fight against the pandemic.

We also share our year in numbers, as we increased our workforce to 365 members across 66 nationalities, launched our first spin-off in the space sector, and added nine new partners to our Partnership Programme.

Even though 2020 was a difficult year, we hope this edition shines a light on a few of the greatest accomplishments we made as a team!
