The LCL presented at Gdansk Entrepreneurship Incubator

European logistics and intermodality identified as key factors

Gdansk Entrepreneurship Incubator STARTER hosted a maritime and logistics industry conference, which is part of the first Smart Specialization of Pomorskie Voivodeship – Offshore, port and logistics technologies (ISP1), on June 21.

The meeting was an opportunity to learn more about the start-ups working on solutions dedicated to the area and the Polish Port Community System project. The co-organizer of the event was the Port of Gdansk Authority SA.

The Gdansk Entrepreneurial Foundation and the Smart Specialization of Pomorskie Voivodeship Council signed a letter of intent in May 2018. The aim of both parties is to increase the potential, activity and development of companies connected with Intelligent Specializations of Pomerania (ISP 1), which were selected in a competition conducted by the Department of Economic Development in the Office of the Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship.

The special guest of the event was Prof. Binyamin Mantin, Director of the Luxembourg Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management, who talked about the European logistics and multimodality.

More innovative solutions developed by start-ups as part of the Space3ac acceleration programme have also been presented. Marcin Musioł, Business Development Manager from Parkanizer talked about the vehicle traffic management system, and Rafał Wolak, President of the Board of Seadata, presented the use of artificial intelligence sensors in the maritime industry.

The participants of the conference learned also about innovative solutions for ISP 1. Paweł Zaremba from the Rogum Kable Sp. z o.o. presented new technological solutions with the use of mining cables in ports. Ewa Mikos-Romanowicz, Business Development Director and Tomasz Musielak, Sales Manager at Siemens Sp. z o.o. Energy Management talked about « Smart Port » – new energy economy in ports. Advanced solutions for infrastructure management and optimisation of energy efficiency was introduced by Jacek Piotrowski from NMG SA. Rafał Drewnicki, President of the Board of ICS Sp. z o. o and Marek Łupina, President of the Management Board of GSC Sp. z o. o. Sp.k talked about foldable containers.

Almost 100 entrepreneurs, researchers, officials and other stakeholders made this conference a great networking opportunity.
