The most recent cohort of LSF graduates were conferred their degrees during the University of Luxembourg Graduation Week in December.
A group of 36 graduates from the Master in Wealth Management, and 67 graduates from the MSc in Banking and Finance received their diplomas at the event on 12 December. All graduating students were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance, Prof. Katalin Ligeti, as well as the University of Luxembourg Rector, Prof. Stéphane Pallage. Both congratulated students on their achievement and wished them the best of success on their future paths.
The best students from each class were awarded special honours in recognition of their outstanding performance.
- Pictet & Cie (Europe) sponsored the prize for the Best Student of the Master in Wealth Management, which was awarded to Noemi Bencz.
- Bank of China presented the award for the Best Students of the MSc in Banking and Finance to Xiao Hu and Valérian Daniel Louis Catuhe, who shared the overall best grade.
- The prize for the Best Master Thesis in Finance, awarded by INVESTAS asbl, went to Claude Loes for her thesis on “Financing micro-enterprises. Microfinance versus crowdlending: what future?” and to David Biczok for his thesis on “The future of bitcoin and the blockchain technology”.
During a special event organised on 14 December, three doctoral candidates who completed their research at the LSF were also awarded their degrees: XueCan Cui (under the supervision of Prof. Jang Schiltz), and Ali Nasser Eddine and Huizhu Sun (both under the supervision of Prof. Roman Kräussl).
“Graduation marks the culmination of our students’ time here at the LSF,” commented the Head of the LSF, Prof. Schiltz. “It is a special occasion to celebrate with friends and family. We are very proud of this year’s graduates. We wish them all the best as they embark on further study or their professional careers, and hope that they will stay in touch with us as they join our alumni community.”
