LAWM. – The Luxembourg Association of Wealth Managers – was co-founded in May 2017 by five graduates of the Master in Wealth Management.

Najat Skeate, Daniela Coppo, Stela Stamatova, Helene Meadows and Marco Klacar met in 2015 when they started their Master programme. They come from different countries and backgrounds, and altogether speak nine languages. After sharing many courses, exams and special moments, they decided to create something together and so launched LAWM, a non-profit organization registered in Luxembourg.

The concept is not only a way to maintain contact between alumni and new students of the Luxembourg School of Finance but also to bring something new to Luxembourg, encouraging exchanges between wealth managers, whether they are based in Luxembourg or abroad.

LAWM promotes, organises and disseminates scientific, technical, ethical and educational information on wealth management and its related branches by all appropriate means to its members. The association has the ambition of being a platform of exchange of information, expertise and experience between financial professionals, international students and alumni, bringing a dynamic and youthful-minded aspect to it.

Talks, training and networking opportunities

The members accepted into the association are professionals working in one of the many aspects of wealth management such as private banking, wealth planning, family offices, asset management, etc. as well as the LSF network of students and alumni composed of people with different nationalities, backgrounds, cultures and ages, which is a strength for the association.

The members of LAWM have the opportunity of participating in wealth management talks, thematic events, trainings and networking.

The association includes a carefully chosen scientific committee composed of Prof. Jang Schiltz, Roger H. Hartmann, Dr Peter J. Mathis, Dr Klaas P. Baks, Prof. Roman Kräussl and Prof. Jorge Sanz. Each member of the scientific committee has a unique speciality, bringing to the association a real added value in terms of skills, knowledge and expertise.

All prospective members are encouraged to learn more about the association via our LinkedIn and Facebook pages on which the membership application form can be found.

Over the last year, LAWM organised two public seminars together with the LSF. On 13 December  2017, Peter J. Mathis spoke about “Become Rich and Stay Rich” and on 30 April  2018, Klaas P. Baks delivered a seminar entitled “Navigating the New Normal in Private Equity”. Both seminars were organised in the premises of the University and were very well attended by people from the financial industry in Luxembourg.
