On Friday, 23 March, Barbara Chevalier in charge of strategy and business development at CFL Multimodal and her team have opened their doors to the University of Luxembourg.

CFL multimodal, whose origins date back to 1979, is a subsidiary of the CFL group at 99.99%. The company has developed through several acquisitions to become one of the main players in logistics in Luxembourg. The complementary activities of its 5 subsidiaries – CFL intermodal, CFL logistics, CFL port services (in Belgium), CFL site services and CFL terminals – and the close cooperation with sister company CFL cargo, enable CFL multimodal to cover the entire logistics chain.

The visit of the newly opened Bettembourg terminal had been arranged in regards to the Masters programme in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

A detailed presentation of the 3 pillars of CFL Multimodal, logistics, rail, infrastructure, as well as a terminal tour, gave an overview of the actual challenges in the European rail market open to competition since 2006.

Combined rail-road transport, freight solutions for rail, road, waterways and air, warehousing, customs services, city logistics and all other services of the logistics chain offered by CFL Multimodal are major interest topics for the master students graduating next June.
