Carla is the Outreach Communication Officer in the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF), assigned to the Luxembourg Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LCL), a member of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Global SCALE Network.
In this role, Carla drives and oversees the outreach strategy and activities, which includes establishing and maintaining strong sustainable relations with industry, government, MIT, and the SCALE Network.
A native New Yorker (Manhattan), Carla has lived in Europe half of her life, including nearly twenty years in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
She was educated at the Lycée Français de New-York (Baccalauréat), Harvard University (BA in Economics), and the Wharton School of Business/Lauder Institute of International Management at the University of Pennsylvania (MBA in Marketing & MA in European Studies/German language).
She is a dual U.S. and Luxembourg national who combines her business skills, honed at Henkel Düsseldorf and Paris as a Group Product Manager (laundry detergent) and in fundraising for not-for-profit organizations and charities, with her recent experience in economic advising and commercial diplomacy at the U.S. Embassy in Luxembourg over fourteen years. Raised bilingual in English and French, Carla is fluent in German and learned Luxembourgish.
