Best thesis award winner is Melvin Drent

“Stocking and Expediting in Two-Echelon Spare Parts Inventory Systems under System Availability Constraints”

Melvin Drent’s thesis, “Stocking and Expediting in Two-Echelon Spare Parts Inventory Systems under System Availability Constraints”, was awarded the best Master of Science (MSc) Thesis of the graduate programme “Industrial Engineering” completed in the calendar year 2017 at the Eindhoven University of Technology.

Hence, his MSc Thesis was the best of all Industrial Engineering thesis’s completed in 2017 and it was finalist for the best MSc Thesis of all thesis’s completed at the Eindhoven University of Technology in 2017.

Melvin joined the Luxembourg Center for Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LCL) as a full-time PhD student in November 2017.

Melvin’s current research focuses on dual-sourcing strategies; particularly the application of such strategies to create carbon efficient supply chains. This PhD research is supervised by Associate Prof. Joachim Arts.
