The prize has been given during the Ideation Camp 2019 of the Uni.lu Incubator. The Ideation Camp is a 72-hour learning by doing experience, a workshop on entrepreneurship. In the final session, students pitch their idea to a jury in an open session.

In interdisciplinary and multinational teams, the participants work on innovative business ideas, supported by dedicated mentors from the Luxembourgish entrepreneurship ecosystem as well as industry experts. On the final day of the camp, the ideas are presented to a versatile jury, composed of members of the Rectorate of the University, investors and entrepreneurs.

Most pet owners worry about their pet in transit when the pet travels alone as they have absolutely no visibility of their pet’s well-being and safety. The same lack of visibility and safety aspect also applies to professional pet transportation.  Pet ownership has significantly increased globally in the past few years. Although pet owners are willing to pay if they are assured on pet safety, the incidents of animal deaths in flight do have consequences on transportation of animals.

The solution is ‘ViPET’. Asra and her team are working on designing a digital solution where they monitor and track the pet’s movement in transit and at the same time update the pet movements to the customer in a timely manner. Should there be an emergency, all the relevant information will be stored and made available so that appropriate action can be taken.

Pet ownership and travel is growing worldwide and has a lot of potential. The team wants to leverage innovative technologies to offer a solution with regards to pet’s visibility and safety during transportation.

The team are professionals with prior experience in supply chain management, technology consulting, finance, software programming and engineering. They work with an advisor who is an expert in project management and process optimisation.

They are looking for industry partners to build and commercialise their solution.

Asra Yasmeen is a student of the Master in Logistics & Supply Chain Management offered by the LCL. The programme focuses on logistics, supply chain and finance from a Luxembourg perspective and opens to first-class careers in the domain.
