The LSF’s team of junior researchers is growing with the arrival of four new doctoral candidates at the end of 2018 and the beginning of next year.

Here, we give a short introduction about our newcomers and their research topics.

Patricia Bilezikjian holds a Master in Economics and Finance (Research Track) from the University of Luxembourg. She also holds an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (cum laude), both from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Patricia has worked for more than a decade for the largest Brazilian investment banks in underwriting and distribution of fixed income credit instruments (corporate bonds, ABS, bank notes). She writes her thesis in real estate pricing under the supervision of Prof. Ulf Von Lilienfeld-Toal.

Aleksandr Ermakov is a graduate of the University of Luxembourg. He first joined the Research Track of the Master in Economics and Finance as an exchange student and has since been accepted as a doctoral candidate in the field of finance. His research, under the supervision of Prof. Roman Kräussl, aligns with his educational experience so far at Uni.lu and will focus on alternative investments.

Bilal Kchouri is a PhD candidate within the Doctoral School of Economics and Finance at the University of Luxembourg. Prior to joining Uni.lu, Bilal finished his Master in Economics and Finance (Research Track) degree at the University of Luxembourg as well as obtaining an MBA degree from the Lebanese American University and a Bachelor’s degree from the American University of Beirut with a double emphasis in finance and accounting. Bilal’s research interests focus on banking and financial economics. His current project on Islamic Finance is supervised by Prof. Thorsten Lehnert.

Simon Petitjean is a data analyst at KPMG Luxembourg and is about to start his PhD journey with the LSF. He already experienced research during internships at the University of Lorraine in plasma physics and economics. His research topic covers asset management/investment fund audit focused on the multivariate net asset value per share modelling. Prof. Jang Schiltz from the LSF will supervise his thesis with the close participation of Prof. Pascal Damel, University of Lorraine.
