The science comic « LUX:plorations – A Universe of Research Volume 1 » is nominated for the GINCO Award 2021. The collection of short stories is on the shortlist for the “Best Shortform Comic” together with five other nominees.
The GINCO award is the German inclusive comic award of the independent scene. This year, 25 out of 95 submissions are nominated in one out of four categories. ”LUX:plorations – Ein Forschungsuniversum” (Volume 1) is nominated for “Best Shortform Comic”.
LUX:plorations was developed in collaboration between scientists and artists in Luxembourg. So far, over 5.000 copies of the comics were distributed and it has been downloaded over 1.000 times. The comics are currently exhibited in the Luxembourg Learning Center (LLC) as well as the Luxembourg Science Center (LSC).

LUX:plorations is mainly funded by the Doctoral School in Science and Engineering (DSSE) from the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) of the University of Luxembourg and produced under the lead of the Doctoral Education in Science Communication (DESCOM) project, which is supported by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR).
