DESCOM supports the Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The DESCOM team supports the breast cancer awareness month by participating in the virtual challenge of the “Broschtkriibslaf” organised by Europa Donna Luxembourg. But running to fight against cancer is not enough…

Every year, October is the month dedicated to breast cancer awareness worldwide. Due to the current situation, the yearly charity run “Broschtkriibslaf” organized by Europa Donna Luxembourg could not take place in its usual form. However, this does not prevent many dedicated people from participating in the virtual challenge. You can run and collect funds either individually or in a group. The good thing about this Covid-19 caused virtual charity run: You can do any kind of physical activity, not only running. Supporters can also walk the stairs, ride a bicycle, swim, dance, practice yoga or anything else. Members of the DESCOM team also participated:

On top of that, Elisabeth Schaffner-Reckinger, a cancer research scientist from the University of Luxembourg and Nicole Paschek, Project Manager of DESCOM, also started organizing an outreach activity. In collaboration with doctoral candidates, they plan to develop an online quiz in order to inform the public about some key aspects around cancer. Interested candidates can find more information here.
